Ljubljana, 25 April (STA) - Plastika Skaza, a company specialised in plastics products, saw sales grow by 10% in 2017 to EUR 38.5m. The target for this year is EUR 40m, whereby own-brand sales are expected to more than double to EUR 3.5m, the company said on Wednesday.
Net profit was down by a third to EUR 0.6m, but the company says this is the consequence of a EUR 7m investment drive last year.
"Our assessment is that we were successful because we have achieved a transformation with our own brand," director and co-owned Tanja Skaza said.
Skaza said development of the own brand, already present on 70 markets, would continue, with current sales assessed as good.
"We're experts on plastics, technology and development, but we're still kids when it comes to our own brand. We've managed to show in the past five years that we can do it and therein lies our added value," she said.
The company is best known for making home and leisure products for companies including the Swedish furniture giant Ikea and Slovenian home appliances maker Gorenje.
