Ljubljana, 05 June (STA) - Plastika Skaza, a fast-growing maker of plastic products, is this year's winner of the award for innovations given out by the Slovenian-German Chamber of Commerce. The company was honoured for its focus on synergies, sustainable development and corporate social responsibility.
Plastika Skaza "strives for technological progress mindful of social and environmental needs and it promotes sustainable business strategies with value added for the company and society," the jury said on Wednesday.
The prize is given out by the Slovenian-German Chamber of Commerce in conjunction with the German Embassy in Slovenia and WISE Institute, which was established by four business schools, including IEDC Bled School of Management.
"When it comes to sustainability, we have to think about tomorrow today. It is important to understand what a sustainable economy will be like in the future and what we must do today to achieve that," said the president of the jury, WISE Institute chairman Rene Schmidpeter.
German-owned chemical company Henkel Maribor and Mikrocop, a specialist in paperless business, were also in the running for the prize, which honours the best technical, business and intellectual innovations of companies in Slovenia.
