The government lowered the number of persons allowed in public gatherings fr om 500 to 50 in a correspondence session on Monday. The only exception will be official events licensed by the National Institute of Public Health. The government also indicated stricter oversight of quarantine orders.
Government spokesman Yelko Kachin told the press before a government meeting that several hot spots of the coronavirus had recently appeared as a result of parties and other gatherings where the rules of social distance were not respected.
Despite reducing the limit on the total number of participants, the government allows meetings of up to 500 people to be held in cases where the organizers can guarantee social distance and obtain permission from NIJZ, for example, events with seating arrangements and steward services. Kassin noted that this exception will apply to any rallies.
The Ministry of Internal Affairs offered the medical inspection support in supervision, and no medical inspector should be in a situation wh ere they do not have police support but need it, Kachin said, but did not mention any specific problems.
