Kristjan Stopar, a FERI student at the University of Maribor, won first place in the IEEE Region 8.
Together with students Pia Žnidaršič and Urban Košale, he developed a visual kinaesthetic navigation device for the blind and visually impaired.
The final contest was organised as part of the IEEE MELECON2020 international conference. Despite the fact that Kristjan is currently a second-year student of the 1st level study programme in Programming and Information Technologies, he beat all foreign competitors and won the first place in the finals.
